“Re/ Formula” is a visual case study for the 2025 Formula 1 Season (Australian, Chinese, Monaco Grand Prix) through the lens of commercialization.
While Formula 1 cars were originally defined by their national racing colors, the late 1960s marked a shift toward sponsorships for financial survival, transforming the vehicles into walking billboards. I wanted to see what happens when brand integrations completely takes over. How does one small adjustment change how people feel about the brand?
I started this project looking at the evolution of Formula 1, press releases, host locations, and the visual identity of title sponsors. By blending the high-performance spirit of motorsports with the refined visual language of luxury, these designs explore the growing tension in sports sponsorships, where brands begin to redefine and overshadow the heritage and integrity of the sport and its athletes.
